Hello all! We hope you are doing well! This week is our turn (Jacob and Linn) to post the challenge, so here we go. We are going to start a story for you and ask that everyone take a part in finishing it. You can write one sentence, two sentences, twenty-four sentences--whatever makes you happy! And you can contribute to it multiple times if you would like. There are very few rules going on with this challenge so come back often in the week to see how the story is progressing and what you would like to add to it. We'll start out really fancy. Here you go.
Once upon a time there was a girl who...
liked to read about humongous green slugs. But that got old, so she turned the page, only to find that the book was magical!
ReplyDeleteIt started to sing to her and tell her stories about trolls and fairies and horses with wings.
ReplyDeleteSuddenly the pages of the book began to shutter, a mystical wind blew in through the open window and a troll stuck it's head out of the book and said;

ReplyDeleteAs she ran down the hall she yelled, "Myrtle, Myrtle, help me Myrtle. There is a aquamarine colored Troll head coming out of my book"
ReplyDeleteMyrtle appeared in the drwing room door and asked with fear in her voice. "Does it have sapphire eyes?"
Myrtle, Lily's crazy sister always had her head in books and came up with the craziest ideas.

ReplyDeleteboth turned with a start as a large hand wrapped around Lily's door frame. The large, wart riddled face, emerged and caught sight of the two morsels standing petrified in the doorway. Stomping down the hall towards them he licked his one yellowed tooth in anticipation. With a yelp Lily grabbed her sister's arm and bolted for the front door.
ReplyDeleteAs they padded across the front lawn Myrtle commented, absentmindedly, "How very strange, he had sangria colored eyes. They clashed so terribly with his pink fingernails."
Lily ignored her strange sister and continued to drag her down the street to....
the safehouse! This was a large victorian home with gingerbread trim that had been set aside by the government months ago, for those who found their life in peril, and surely Myrtle and Lily were that! Lily rested Myrtle against the wall and sank to the floor herself. "We're safe here Myrtle, no troll on earth would dare bother us here!" Both girls jumped in alarm when the front door opened slowly!

ReplyDelete"There is a monster after us," said Lily. "Yes, a troll with sangria colored eyes." responded Myrtle.
"Are you sure they are Sangria and not burgandy?" said Mr. Tagenhafenscmidtzfulldopen
jokingly. Lily looked at and the janitor. Then she gasped as his shape began to become mishapen. His shoulders became hunched and he slowly began to grow taller and wider. Lily was petrified. The janitor was no longer a human but was the grotesque troll that had popped out of the book. Before Lily could do as much as move a finger the troll snatched up Myrtle and dashed out the door.
